HOW TO GET TO PARIS FROM THE AIRPORT (CHARLES DE GAULLE, ORLY AND BEAUVAIS)

There are many ways to get to Paris, although it is normal to do it by plane to one of the three airports of the French capital: Charles de Gaulle, Orly and Beauvais. We tell you how to get to the center of Paris from each of the airports.

It is located in the metropolitan area of ​​Paris, just 25 km northeast of the city, in the zone 5. This is the main airport in France and the second in Europe in number of passengers, after Heathrow in London. It has 3 terminals, although those that concentrate traffic are 1 and 2, all interconnected with a free shuttle train (CDGVAL).

To get to the center of Paris there are several means of transport, but first it is mandatory to talk about the service free shuttle CDGVAL, the free automatic train that connects the three terminals. Your stops are:

Terminal 2 - Parking - Terminal 3, Roissypole - Parking - Terminal 1

And some more points, referring to the stations within each terminal:

  • Roissypol Gare. It is the name of the building complex in Terminal 3 (offices, hotels, restaurants, shops ...) There is the train station Aérogare 1 (not to be confused with the number 1 of this station and relate it to terminal 1 ...) and intercity buses Gare Routière.
  • Aérogare 1 (CDG1). Located in the Roissypole of the terminal 3. From here you can the RER B train line, but not high-speed trains (for which you would have to go to Aerogare 2).
  • Aérogare 2 (CDG2). It is located in terminal 2 and is the main train station of Charles de Gaulle airport. Here the RER B trains start the tour (they also stop the Aérogare 1) and also the TGV intercity trains with destinations to other cities in France and even Europe. If you are following the directions to RER B inside the airport, they are probably driving you to this station.

And given these clarifications, let's see how to get to Paris from the airport. These are the options:

TRAIN

The Paris regional train system is the RER (Réseau Express Regional). Charles de Gaulle airport is in RER zone 5 and the line that passes through it is the RER B. It stops both in Aerogare 1 (CDG1, in T3) and in Aerogare 2 (CDG2, in T2), but be careful, if you take it in Aerogare 1 make sure you go to Paris!

The journey it takes between 25 and 30 minutes depending on the destination, among which are Gare du Nord, Châtelet - Les Halles, St-Michel Notre Dame and Denfert Rochereau. It works between 05:00 and 00.00 with a frequency of 10 to 15 minutes.

The price of the bill It is 10,30€ and to obtain it you have to go to the automatic machines (in cash or by card). Do not forget to save the ticket, as the exit you will need. In addition, that same ticket can serve you for the subway for a period of two hours from the first validation. You can see the Paris Visité pass and the Navigo Pass, both from zones 1-5. Not so the Paris Pass which is only for zones 1-3.

BUS

It is more fun than the train, but the transfer time will be longer, approximately 1 hour in all cases. In this case, the bus ticket does not include the connections you have to make of RER and metro. There are several companies that operate this service:

Roissy Bus

Make the transfer from any of the terminals to the bus stop. Opéra metro (lines 3, 7, 8 and 9 of the metro and RER A). The journey takes just under an hour, with departures from 06:00 to 00:30 and a frequency of 15 to 20 minutes. The ticket costs 12€ (including the 5-zone Visité and Navigo passes).

Le Bus Direct

It has two lines (more info):

  • Line 2, with stops at Porte Maillot, Champs Elysées and the Eiffel Tower. It has a stop at T1 and several at different exits from T2. Its schedule is from 5:30 to 23:30, and the price is 18€ one way (€ 13 for groups of 4 people or more).
  • Line 4, which stops at Gare de Lyon and Gare de Montparnasse two of the main stations in Paris. The buses run from 5:45 to 22:45 and have a price of 18€.

RAPT buses

The public company that manages transport in Paris. The lines you can take are:

  • Line 350, to the Gare de l'Est (zone 1, lines 4 and 5 of the subway). Map of the route.
  • Line 351, to the Paris Nation (zone 1, lines 1, 2, 6, and 9 subway and RER A). Map of the route.

Its schedule is from 06:00 to 22:00 (approx). There are stops at terminals 1 and 2 and the journey takes about an hour and a quarter. The ticket costs 6€ or three t + tickets.

Night bus

They are the urban night buses. The lines that interest us are the N140 and the N143. They arrive at the Gare de l'Est and circulate every 30 minutes between 00:00 and 05:00. The journey takes one hour and has a cost of 8€ or 4 t + tickets.

TAXI AND PRIVATE TRANSFER

The paths of cab Between the Charles de Gaulle Airport and the center of Paris, there is a flat rate: € 50 to go to any point on the right bank, and € 55 for the left bank, to which a supplement must be added if the trip is made in Sunday or holiday, or at night.

Located just 12 km south of Paris, in the zone 4, this is the second most important airport in the city. It consists of two terminals, the South Terminal and the West Terminal, with a free shuttle service between them. The options to get to the center of Paris from this airport They are as follows:

Flights from Spain to Paris Orly

TRAIN

Through the RER (the Paris sub-Cuban train) you can reach the French capital. The lines that pass through here the RER B and the RER C. However, the RER is not directly connected to Orly Airport, so to get to Paris you will need to use an additional means of transport. Let's see the options:

RER B (+ Orlyval)

It should be taken from the antony station, connected to the two terminals of Orly airport through the automatic train Orlyval, which takes 8 minutes to arrive. The RER, on its way to the center, passes through the stations of Denfert-Rochereau, Saint-Michel-Notre-Dame, Chatelet-Les Halles and Gare du Nord and its estimated time is about 30 minutes.

The price of the combined ticket is 13,25€. Its schedule is from 06:00 to 23:35 and its frequency is from 4 to 7 minutes. It is not possible to use the Passe Navigo for the OrlyVal (€ 9.30 the single OrlyVal ticket), being valid only for the section from Antony to the center (provided the pass is 3 zones) but the Paris Visité Card is.

RER C (+ GO C Paris Bus)

To take this line you would have to move to the Pont de Rungis station with the “GO C ​​Paris” bus. Buses leave every 15 minutes from both terminals, at the entrance C (stop 5) of the South Terminal and at the C (stop 7) of the West. Once at the Pont de Rungis station it takes about 25 minutes to downtown.

The price of the combined ticket is 6,35€ (€ 3.90 of the RER + € 2.50 of the bus). The train operates from 05:00 to 23:00 and has a frequency of 10 to 15 minutes. With it you can reach the stations of Gare d'Austerlitz, St-Michel or Champ de Mars - Tour Eiffel and use the same ticket for the subway. BUS

To get to Paris and enjoy its streets from the window. Keep in mind that the bus ticket does not include the connections you have to make from RER and metro. There are several companies that operate this service:

Orly Bus

Connect the airport with the Denfert-Rochereau station, in Montparnasse, from where we can take the RER C or metro lines 4 and 6. The ticket price is 8,70€ and operates every 15 minutes from 06:00 to 00:30, with a stop at both terminals. The transport cards are valid.

Le Bus Direct

The line 1 It connects the airport with the Arc de Triomphe (Place de l'Etoile), passing through Gare de Montparnasse and Trocadero. Its price is of 12€ and runs from 06:00 to 23:30 every 15 minutes. The journey takes about 45-60 minutes, always depending on traffic. Buses can be found outside the West (Gate D) and South (Gate L) terminals of the airport.

RAPT bus

The line 183 passes only from the South Terminal and arrives until the Porte de Choisy station (zone 1) in about 40 minutes and for 2€. From there you can take metro line 7 and tram line T3. Its frequency is 30 minutes and runs from 05:35 to 00:15.

The Noctilien

It is the bus service nocturnal They work from 00:30 to 05:30. The buses that pass through Orly are line N22 (Paris-Châtelet), N31 and N131 (Gare de Lyon), and N144 (Gare de Paris-Est).

TRAM + METRO

It is a good way to get to the center. Tram T7 connects Orly airport with the Villejuif-Louis Aragon station (zone 3), from where you can take the subway line 7. It has a schedule from 05:30 to 00:30 going on with a frequency of 5 - 10 minutes. The estimated time to the center of Paris is 45 minutes. The total price would be 3,80€ (2 t + tickets that cost € 1.90).

TAXI AND PRIVATE TRANSFER

Taxi rides from Orly Airport to the center of Paris cost 30€ to any point on the left margin and35€ to any point on the right bank of the Seine, to which you have to add a supplement if the trip is made on a Sunday or holiday, or at night.

If you are flying with a low cost airline, you will most likely arrive at this airport. It is located at 80 km northwest of Paris, so, after two hours of flight, you will have to spend another time to reach your final destination. Flights from Spain to Paris Beauvais

TRAIN

There is no direct train connection between Paris and Beauvais airport. You will have to move to the Beauvais locality, either by taxi (€ 15) or bus (line 12), and then get on the first train that leads to Gare du Nord. It is a slow and more expensive option, so we do not recommend it.

BUS

Buses leave between 15 and 30 minutes after the arrival of each flight (even if the flight is late) and secure seats for all passengers. It leaves from a point between the two terminals, next to Terminal 1 and its stop in Paris makes it in a bus parking called Boulevard Pershing, near the Hotel Concorde-La Fayette and near the Arc de Triomphe.
