Naoussa

Naoussa is only 10 kilometers from Parikia, which we left after checking out at the Hotel Oasis, which has been our accommodation in Parikia these days and after breakfast, when it's 10 in the morning, travel in less than 15 minutes the distance that takes us again, with our rental car in Greece to Naoussa.
After parking in the public parking lot at the entrance of the town and having about 3 hours, we decided that it is best to get lost again in the streets of this charming town, which we understand perfectly, has become one of the places most visited of Paros, besides being one of the most demanded holiday destinations.

- Once you arrive in Santorini, the ferry will leave you at the new port of Fira, 8 kilometers from Fira and 23 from Oía. This is important to keep in mind, since once there, if you do not have a rental car, you must have some type of private transfer, either a taxi or something contracted with the accommodation, or take the tourist bus, which passes every few minutes
- Another thing to value, if you get dizzy by boat, is to take biodramina, since although it is not usual, if the sea is choppy, the ferry usually moves a lot.
- As you will see on the map attached below, the Paros ferry to Santorini, pass by Naxos, where it makes a brief stop to leave and take passengers. Taking this into account and that this section takes you more or less 30 minutes, another option to save you would be to make the Mykonos-Paros-Naxos-Santorini combination, so as not to have to do this last extra journey.

Route to go by ferry from Paros to Santorini

We arrive at the port of Fira when it is 4:30 p.m., after a journey of practically 2 hours, since we have taken the fastest ferry, and after returning to the car, start our tour of Santorini, one of the most desired islands We had to know and that from what we see as soon as we get off the ferry, we are sure that we will love it, despite being much more touristy than Naxos or Paros, where we came from.

Our destination is Firostefani, next to Fira, where Gaby Apartments is, our accommodation in Santorini the next few days, where we arrive after crossing a narrow road, which already begins to give us incredible views of the caldera and with which they start, we have To confess, the butterflies in the stomach and is that this end of the trip, is one of the destinations that we most wanted to know.
After verifying that we have the great luck of having a free parking right at the entrance of our accommodation, we unload the luggage and it is at the moment that we approach and look down the stairs, when we discover one of the great surprises of this trip ; the stunning views we have from our terrace and the common areas of Gaby Apartments, which are none other than those of the Greek Orthodox church that appears in most postcards of Santorini and that we have right next door.

Sunset from the Greek Orthodox Church of Firostefani

So with this gift, and when it is after 5 p.m., we take a shower and go out for the first time to the streets of Firostefani, now looking for a place to have a dinner-meal, since still we have not eaten as a precaution in case we had bad seas in the Paros ferry to Santorini.
After looking at several options, we ended up deciding on the Romantic Taverna, one of the most recommended restaurants in the area, where we ordered a combined fish and seafood dish for two people, plus water, wine and coffees for 61 euros, which we have to confess we feel great, although the service is extremely slow.

Romantic Taverna

Already with a full stomach, charged energy and being practically 7 in the afternoon, we decided that the rest of the day we will dedicate it to know a little about Firostefani and Fira, in addition to enjoying the first sunset in Santorini, which how could it be otherwise This way, it will be in the incredible Greek Orthodox church, which we have next to our accommodation and which, as we mentioned before, is one of the typical postcards of Santorini and we would even dare to say, of Greece.

Sunset in Firostefani

What to see in Firostefani in Santorini

First of all, it is necessary to differentiate Firostefani from Fira, the first being a small village, attached to Fira about a kilometer and the latter, the small town where the ferry port is from other islands of Greece.
In our case we stayed at Firostefani, where the famous church that appears on many of Santorini's postcards is and although it is attached to Fira, it is somewhat quieter, since there are not so many entertainment venues as in the previous one.

Church

Known for being the image of many of Santorini's postcards, this Greek Orthodox church is one of the must-see places in Firostefani. Keep in mind that you cannot visit its interior, so you can come to visit it at any time of the day, preferably at the time of sunset, at which time you can enjoy unique views from the viewpoint.
To access the lower area of the viewpoint, you can only do so if you are staying at Gaby Apartments, where we stayed the nights we were in Santorini.

Walk from Firostefani to Fira

One of the main attractions of Firostefani is the walk that borders the caldera until it reaches Fira, which runs along Agiou Mina street. In this case, we recommend you do it by the sea area and then inside to see the inner streets of Fira, which are full of restaurants, shops and entertainment venues.
As in other areas of Greece, we advise you to do this walk both day and night, since with the sunset the cliff is full of lights, of the places that seem to be hanging from the rock wall of the caldera .

Views of Fira from Firostefani

Fira

Keep in mind that this area of Firostefani and Fira is much more expensive than other areas of Greece, especially the premises with views of the caldera, so if you want to adjust the budget, in interesting opt for the interior area, next to the road to Oía, where there are many restoration options, with tighter prices.

Port of Fira

Fira

With one of the most incredible views of Santorini, Fira is one of the places you cannot miss on the island. Come by car or bus to Fira, we advise you to enter Plateia Theotokopoulou, the main square of the town, where most of the travelers looking for tighter services are usually concentrated.
From here you can see Calle 25 Martiou, which is the main artery of Fira and divides the square in two, as the main road that runs parallel to the caldera and borders the network of pedestrian streets where most of them are concentrated. shops of this tourist town.

Sunset in Firostefani

One of the most incredible moments you can live in Fira is the time of sunset. Although it can be wonderful from any location, we especially recommend two points, which we are sure, will become unforgettable moments.

- Greek Orthodox Church: As we mentioned before, one of the best known images of Santorini and without a doubt one of the best places to enjoy a unique sunset.

Firostefani

- Walk from Firostefani to Fira: Another point where you can enjoy an unforgettable sunset is the walk from Firostefani to Fira, at any of its points, preferably in the Firostefani area, since it is usually quite quieter than Fira .
