But first, let us tell you something: the city of Moscow has developed in circles around the center (which we could consider the Red Square). Ideally, find an accommodation within the first circle, called “Boulverd Ring”(Formed by several boulevards). The next ring would be the “Garden ring“, Which covers a much broader extension, and where you can find good offers, but somewhat further from the center. The third and fourth would be ring roads, and they are areas that are too far away.
On the other hand, if you can choose, it is best to look for something at north of the moscova river.
It is the area where we stayed. Specifically we spent 7 nights at Naumov apart-hotel (Апарт-отель Наумов) and it was great. It is a very nice area and not so touristy (but very safe), with boulevards for walking, with a lot of local atmosphere (especially on weekends) and near the center (walking in 15 minutes you reach). There are restaurants, supermarkets, coffee shops, as well as several bus lines with which to go downtown and also metro stations (Chistye Prudy orTurgenevskaya) It was about 400 meters and walking quietly 30 minutes you reached the same Red Square (15 minutes to the center).
We recommend some accommodation near Rozhdestvensky Blv or Chistoprudny Blvd.

- Naumov apart-hotel
- Naumov Sretenka apart-hotel
- Naumov Lubyanka apart-hotel
- Hanzer Hotel
- Moscow Center Apart Hotel
- Barin Residence Myasnitskaya
These are the most central areas of Moscow and it is clear that if you find a good offer here, do not think about it! A few steps from the Red Square, the Kremlin or the Bolshoy Theater, it would be the optimal option to stay in the heart of the city and thus enjoy at any time the most incredible area of one of the most incredible cities in Europe.
The bad thing is that the offers here are not usually very common. Unless you do not have a more generous budget it will be difficult to find something backpacking here (especially if you want to be in Kitay Gorod ... if we move away from the center and we already enter the Tverskoy area we can find a double room for about € 100).

- D-Hotel Tverskaya
- National Hotel
- Metropol
The Arbat Street It is one of the busiest in Moscow, full of restaurants, shops and also has a few hotels. For us, it sins of little authenticity, but the good thing is that the district is much more than its most famous street and you can find less tourist, quiet and more local corners. The best thing is that the center is within walking distance (in 10-20 minutes you reach all the main tourist points of the center).
Curiosity: "Arbat" means "suburb" and considering that it is now a very central area, it only makes us see the immense expansion that the city had.
→ Recommended hotels:
- Intermark Residence
- Boutique Hotel Arbat 6
- Veliy Hotel Mokhovaya Moscow
The hotel offer (and gastronomic) of this neighborhood, is the best thing in the city (in fact this is where we caught the subway hehe, so it is very close to our favorite area of Moscow). Clarification: this district is huge, we recommend the area south of Chistoprudny Boulevard to the center.
→ Recommended hotels:
- Pokrovka 6 Hotel
- Strawberry Duck Moscow
- Hotel Maroseyka 2/15
