It is a restaurant of buffet type at a fixed price (Monday to Friday) and yes, you can eat everything you want! It has a very central location, so it is perfect for a day of sightseeing. The best thing is that the dishes are very tasty and there is everything: meat, fish, soups, vegetarian dishes and desserts. Come on, here you will eat very well and at a very good price. It is our favorite place to eat well and cheap in Helsinki. It costs about € 10/11 and opens only from 11 to 15 hours.

Ohhh, what memories came to mind on this site (although there really are many places). In a nutshell: it's about the university canteens, but the good thing is that they are open to the public. Every day the dishes are different (there are always several proposals) and, although the quality is not to throw rockets, it is true that it is one of the cheapest places to eat in Helsinki (without having to resort to fast food).

It is one of the icons of the city, a super cute little cabin seaside. The truth is that it is very cool and is a perfect stop for a snack or a snack: two chocolates with cream and a cake to share cost € 11 (but the views and the place are priceless).

They say that here they eat some of the best hamburgers in Helsinki. There are meat options, obvious, but also vegetarian and vegan. In addition each month they have a special hamburger. The hamburger, potato and drink menu is around € 12-14. It is clear that it is still a fast food, but of good quality.

We arrived in Helsinki from St Petersburg, after 15 days in Russia so, really, we wanted to try dishes from another gastronomy. But if you were never in Russia and you feel like approaching that gastronomic culture, this site is a very good option. It specializes in blini, which would be the Russian version of the Crepes, but you have more things like pelmeni (similar to dumplings) and soups. The prices of the dishes are around € 8-10.

Ohhh, the food thai It is one of our favorites, so every so often we try to eat a good curry or a Thai pad. This place was a success: it has today's menu for less than € 10 (the menu is quite expensive so you better go at noon).

We ate here on the recommendation of a reader (thanks Cristina!) And we loved it! At noon they have an offer of € 13 that includes free buffet of 25 different types of sushi ... irresistible!

8. Vanha Kauppahalli (Helsinki Old Market)

Strolling through the stalls of the Old Market and not being tempted to chop something ... it's very rare. There are stalls of empanadillas, desserts (cinnamon rolls are dead), reindeer meat, fish and much more. So if you want to snack something fast and cheap, it's a good place. Recommended on Soppakeittiö, where you can taste fabulous soups.

Also, out, in the Market Square There are places that prepare food (prices € 8-15) and the views are unbeatable. It is a good idea to live one of the gastronomic experiences that, perhaps, are more worthwhile. We tried a Finnish soup of dill, vegetables and salmon (€ 8) and a plate of salmon with potatoes and vegetables (€ 14). We didn't especially like the soup (and more for that price) but the salmon was great!
