Expenses

In total we have spent€ 6.99 per person per day thus distributed:

  • Food: 3,63€
  • Transport: (rental of motorcycle, gasoline, buses, trains, bike, tuktuk ...) € 2.67
  • Tickets / Activities: 0,23€
  • Various: (phone refills, clothes, shampoo, etc ...) € 0.46
  • accommodation: We pay only 11 hotel nights so we have not included this expense in the total daily average as it would distort it. To give you an idea, the average per person of these 11 accommodations was € 3.63.

The best

  • Traveling by motorcycle: the freedom to go anywhere and at any time is the best! In addition to the thousands of things that happen on the road.
  • The backwaters of Kerala, without a doubt one of the best experiences of our entire trip in India.
  • The food: as we always say we are fans of the Indian gastronomy, but WITHOUT SPICY porfiii! We will never forget those breakfasts on the road based on chai and dosas ...
  • Varanasi: it may have been the city we liked most in all of India and it is so unique and special that it leaves no one indifferent.
  • The temple of Madurai: beautiful.
  • Stay with Eva on an idea a trip in Kochi and finally be able to talk face to face after so many talks on the internet.
  • The temples and religiosity of Tamil Nadu, the Hindu soul of the country.
  • Mamallapuram: a known destination but at the same time quiet and full of attractions!
  • Go through the highlands of Kerala, lovely landscapes and a bit of tranquility after the many-hour motorcycle climb!
  • Discover the temple of Thanjavur, one of the most beautiful (and very little tourist) in the south.
  • Varkala: We didn't scatter anything from the other world so much that we planned to spend only one night in this beach town, but we were so comfortable that we decided to stay one more night ... and it fell short! We are going to come back…
  • The dinner at the Old Harbor where we were invited to eat ... what a lujazo!
  • The deal at the Fair way inn hotel in Kodaikanal: Rober got sick and the owner of the hotel took care of him as if he were his mother, very nice!
  • Explore the famous erotic temples of Kajuraho and get lost with the bike through its ancient city where we celebrate (in delay) in Holi!
  • Receive the news of having won the skyscanner bloscar14 as the best travel blog in Spain ... yuppi !!
  • The Apple Pie of the Vatika coffee from Varanasi, the best apple pie in the world ... mmm what sweet memories!
  • Meet the girls and the Seed for Change project, a Spanish NGO in Varanasi. Totally recommended!

Worst

  • The day trip from Kodaikanal to Kochi: many hours on incredibly disastrous mountain roads and traffic before arriving in Kochi ... what a stress!
  • Pondicherry: we had been told very well about this “French” city, but the truth is that it did not make us fall in love at all.
  • Stealing sick in Kodaikanal: we could not do the excursions we had planned but the hotel where we stayed was super nice, so we took advantage of our giant plasma TV!
  • Run over a snake ... brr what a disgust!
  • The truth is that if on the one hand to reach the southern tip of India (Kanyakumari) we liked the idea of having reached the "end" of the country, on the other hand the city itself left us quite indifferent ...
  • Find us in the south during the Holi and discover that it is only celebrated in the north!
  • Do not get a train ticket while on the wait list and have to buy a second class ticket paying a money! (Yes, at least they returned the amount of the ticket in wait list!)
  • Saying goodbye in Varanasi: Stealing that goes to Spain and Lety to Malaysia ... how strange!
