Not long ago I had the opportunity to make a four-day trip to Navarra, which allowed me to recall a similar trip that I made many years ago.
This new trip allowed me to reinforce the excellent memories I had of the beautiful land of Navarre.
Regardless of the various topics that about Navarre I have been posting in the last months on the blog, then I will leave the Top 10 of my trip to Navarra, with the highlights described in chronological order.
Foz de Lumbier in Navarra
The best of a trip to Navarra
1.- Tour an old railway path along the Foz de Lumbier, sighting the flight of numerous birds of prey through the gorge created by the Irati river.
It is an excursion that allows you to walk through a beautiful natural enclave, where following the old estuary of the train and passing through a couple of tunnels, you can see the birds of prey in the area.
2.- First experience of to ride a horse touring a route around the Foz de Arbayun.
Located in the southern area of Navarra, it is the longest and deepest gorge in this community, another ideal place for hiking.
This gorge was created by the erosion of Salazar river, and is about six kilometers long and up to 300 meters high.

An alternative way to hiking to travel a part of it is riding a horse.

Perhaps it is the prettiest town in this northern area of the region, where a walk becomes a delight enjoying the charm of its rural architecture.

You find this town with stone houses and slate roofs in the foothills of the Pyrenees in Navarra, near the Irati Forest.

4.- Enjoy the beautiful panoramic views of the mountains surrounding the spectacular Irati Jungle, during a 4 × 4 vehicle tour.
The Irati Jungle it is the second largest beech in Europe after the Black forest from Germany. and it is a natural enclave of great beauty where you can only access by hiking or cycling.
On a 4 × 4 excursion in a vehicle you will be able to travel a small part of it, but you can climb the mountain areas and bordering France.
5.- Discover the historical enclave of Roncesvalles, who had not yet had occasion to visit, seeing the imposing interior of the Santa Maria Collegiate Church and the grave of Sancho VII The Fort.

6.- Make the closure run through the streets of the old town of Pamplona, on a normal working day, and without runners or bulls.
Strolling in this way through the aforementioned old town does not prevent you from getting an idea of the difficulties that the development of this bullfighting festival presents that puts the Navarrese capital on the world map every year.
7.- Visit the imposing Royal Palace Castle of Olite and witness how an ad is recorded inside with vintage characters.
Its about most visited monument in Navarra, and the best expression of the great importance that the Navarre kingdom once had.
Therefore, during our visit we were not surprised that the Royal Palace of Olite outside the scene of the recording of an advertisement, nor that you can be it of movies and television series.

8.- Stay in the charminghotel La Joyosa Guarda de Olite And taste an excellent dinner.
It is one of those charming little hotels where you like to stay to get away.
9.- To visit, with a segway tour, he Bardenas Reales Natural Park, and in this way discover its most spectacular corners.
In this natural park you will find landscapes that will remind you of Arizona, such as the rock formation Castildetierra.
10.- Know the L and ele restaurant in Tudelaand enjoy an excellent meal (tuna at its point and very tasty entrecôte old beef) with a very nice attention.
It is a restaurant with a certain Andalusian look, but where the main protagonists are the natural vegetables of the area.
